Today we want to honor those that gave their lives for our country. Men and women who gave the ultimate price so that we might remain free and enjoy our liberties as our great nation allows us to. One nation under God! There was and still is a tremendous price being paid for our freedom. But I am afraid of the complacency of how important this privilege has become and how we have taken, twisted, and perverted it.
This nation was established for the reason that we could worship the true God and not be controlled by a political machine that has religious ties. The example was how the church of Rome controlled Europe and the Church of England controlled its people. Our nation is now becoming one nation independent of God. Yet we ask and pray for God to protect our troops in harms way. We are allowing people to rule and make laws that produce decisions that destroy what our troops are giving there own lives for. We need to return back to the true God and show works worthy of repentance.
Many families have lost a son or a daughter for our country. They will never be able to see their families grow up. They will never get to enjoy their grand kids play ball and watch them learn how to catch or put a puzzle together. They paid a price as citizens of this country, yet there was a greater price given that we might be set free from the bondage of sin and death. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life ~ John 3:16." The citizens of this country are the ones who reap the benefits of freedom and privilege of the United States. Those who are citizens of God`s Family have and will reap the blessing and privileges of being a member of his royal family. Jesus Christ, the Messiah of the Jews has fought the battle for us and laid down his life willfully. Yes, the enemy thought they won the battle when they nailed him to the cross and saw his lifeless body hang there. Pilate publicly washed his hands of this innocent man before the people, but this did not wash away his sin. Our good deeds and actions will not set us free from sin and death. There is only One who can set us free from the bondage of sin and death and He is the only one Who is worthy of all praise and glory. He is the risen Savior Jesus Christ, THE SON OF GOD, Who was manifest in the flesh, died in our place, and conquered death by raising from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures. The enemy has been defeated. Jesus Christ is the sovereign authority of His country where there are many who have became citizens of his country. He does not force anybody to become a member of His family, but the privileges of freedom and over bondage to sin and death are only given to those who become a member of His family. Those who are outside of His family are not a citizen of His country and will one day pay the ultimate price for sin and death which is eternal separation from God. This price is hell and the wrath of God.
You have only in this life to decide which country and family you want to die in. If God is speaking to your heart and telling you "My Son Jesus Christ died for you," then do what the Bible says. "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Acknowledge that you are a sinner and that the wrath of God is your final destiny and change your citizenship that you can be saved and be made free from the bondage and sin. Then may the Lord direct you to a church that preaches the Gospel, which is the good news of Jesus Christ.
